In a few days’ time, it will be 31 August, representing independence day for Malaysia on 31 August 1957. May the country & its citizens continuously be showered in blessings during these challenging times.
One catchy song evoking patriotism is Tanggal 31 – popularised by Sudirman Arshad in the 1980s. The original song is actually composed by another singer, Ahmad CB (non-Malaysian too!), with a slower marching tempo. However, the faster version as sung by the great performer Sudirman is etched forever in memories.
