Tanah Pusaka : Song

Feeling a little nostalgic & patriotic, hence sharing the simple tune in piano, which is played on a slightly faster beat.

Lyrics

Sungguh gemilang negeriku
Yang kupuja oh tanah Malaysia
Di merata dunia
Harum semerbak namamu oh Malaysia

Aman makmur kaya-raya
Slama-lama hidup maju jaya
Oh tanah pusaka
Negaraku yang berdaulat dan merdeka

Tanah pusaka bertuah
Berbagai bangsa didalamnya
Hidup aman dan bersama
Bertekun kerja untuk Malaysia

Musuh melanggarku gempur
Sungguh rela kugugur kerana
Kau tanah pusaka
Biar putih tulang jangan putih mata

  1. Thanks for feedback. 16 Sep is Malaysia Day, when Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak established Malaysia in 1963. The song is a reminder of our Tanah Pusaka, loosely translated as the heritage of our land.

  2. Thanks for posting this. It was a nice insight into Malaysian society that few Americans get to see and hear.

I was curious about what this song was, but your link to the MP4 file didn’t work for me. I did a search and came up with this, which allowed me to hear the song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMkyEeYDD5k The karaoke lyrics in the video verified that it was the same song that you were referencing.

I ran the lyrics through Google Translate, but it thought it was Indonesian. I switched the input language to Malay because the lyrics reference Malaysia. The translation was a little different, but essentially the same.

    Cool.
