General & I is a series based on the novel “Lonesome Fragrance Waiting to be Appreciated”. The story follows the story of Bai Ping Ting, He Xia and Chu Bei Jie. Upon the assassination of his family, He Xia seeks revenge at all costs, forsaking his friendship with Ping Ting. Marrying Princess of Bai Lan to increase his power, he goes all out against Chu Bei Jie of Yan Kingdom. Ping Ting is married off to Chu Bei Jie of Jin Kingdom, and falls in love with him in the process. Torn between their love for their country and each other, they face challenges that test their love.
I actually enjoyed the series, especially the 2 male leads portrayed by Wallace Chung (Chu Bei Jie) and Sun Yi Zhou (He Xia). The general critics then were vocal about Angelababy’s performance as Bai Ping Ting. To be fair, she does looks great as the elegant & intelligent Bai Ping Ting.
